Carlos Enrique has experienced perhaps the greatest of all tragedies. Yet he chooses to see the world, and those in it, through a quite unexpected lens. I imagine this film portrait to point through the experience of such tragedy to the whereabouts of true wealth.

I shot this in El Salvador. It was unusual in that Carlos Enrique Araujo believed me to be a Journalist from London, and I knew near nothing about him. His daughter had arranged the filming as a legacy film. And, as became clear, as a total surprise.

I imagine the experience of what happened next to lend proof to the possibility that trust can exist without the need for time in which to prove worthy of it.
