The Tree of Dreams
Many had gathered
tree of dreams.
All but one stood
shaking its branches
for dreams to fall.
Dreams that had been
whispered to them
by the voices of others.
Dreams that would
fade with time.
But one sat quietly
waiting for a dream
to recognize his soul.
And to consume him
with no doubt.

The Point of Us is a deep in the bones experience. A mystical and unrelenting immersion into the light. It’s an original creation of Nic Askew, following near two decades of profound observation and practical work with the inner world and the film camera. This experience is a vast explorative inner journey.
“Know this. There is a place beyond the endless game of fixing what is seemingly broken. A place beyond the perilous myth on which our human existence has built itself; ‘You are not yet enough and there is someone you must become.’ A place beyond the control and struggle that such conclusions forcibly demand. I know this extraordinary place, and how to go there. Let’s travel together. Explorers in the most profound of senses. For it is here that the experience of inner purpose, and of liberation itself will find you.”
The Inner View Camera METHOD is used extensively throughout. Participants leave with the Soul Biographies Inner View of themselves on film (all personal footage) and the amplification of having spoken the truth out loud from deep within their inner world, alongside the shift in vision, awareness and experience that this brings. There is a profound journey in the arc of experience over a number of days. A photographic portrait in Nic’s unique style is also included.

A small (7 to 10 at present) and always courageous band of fellow participants, each certain that they are willing to risk exposure by the Inner View Camera. Each willing to surrender all notions of specific outcomes, knowing somehow that those will find them. Surrender is the antithetical approach, so at odds with a world that seeks certainty, control and specific outcomes.
The exploration always ends up in the territory of truth, liberation, PURPOSE, genius, creativity and the like. The as yet unmapped rewards lie here.
We are to launch the new venture The Point of Us officially in May 2020. Amongst our plans are an expansion of live events, the development of a virtual experience of Inner View and Purpose via Zoom Video (being trialed at the moment with a number of groups) AND of a web based app (iOS and Android) with which to bring your journey into this to life. And the development of an active Community and MOVEMENT based on the essential experience of Inner View.

“The room quietens as another film subject emerges deliberately from the assembled group. She, or he, approaches the Inner View Camera with something to say. Something worthwhile speaking. Words that have purpose, and an obvious use in his or her world. Perhaps even to the world at large. Words that set out to convince us all. But words that so often, have been previously spoken.
The subject sits. Close to the camera. Close to me. Eyes closed, ever deepening breath, as the spartan words of instruction remove any requirement from our time together.
The point of being here, that was so vividly etched into a previously important list is now lost, as the subject’s image is cast in high contrast black and white to a large screen. Arrestingly beautiful. Always.
We are all to be included unreservedly in this experience of the human soul made visible. Of humanity witnessed.
From a palpable and utter stillness, it is as if the subject ‘is being spoken’.
They are not speaking ‘to’ or ‘at’ the world in expectation of something in return, as is so often the case. There are words. And space. And an unbridled vulnerability of such profound importance that the audience cannot turn away. It is utter strength in physical form.
Here, there is nowhere to hide. Here there is no need to hide. Here there is the letting go of control. The control that kept us from seeing one another. And from seeing ourselves. Here, for this moment in time there is Freedom. There is Liberation and Insight. And previously undiscovered Genius. Here truth has been spoken out loud, and we have each been changed from somewhere deep inside.”
